CleanCam is a mobile app for iPhone and Android that helps users clean and organize their camera roll by swiping through photos Tinder-style, with all processing done on-device and no account required. Originally launched as Sweep, the app rebranded to CleanCam in 2025 and has been downloaded over 50,000 times across both platforms.
Key Features
- Swipe-based photo cleanup: Swipe left to mark photos for deletion, swipe right to keep them, and swipe up to add favorites. The gesture-based interface lets users sort through hundreds of photos in minutes.
- On-device processing: All photo and video analysis runs locally on the device without uploading camera roll contents to external servers, preserving user privacy.
- No account required: The app works immediately after download without sign-up, email, or password. No profile creation is needed to start cleaning.
- On this Day: Shows photos from the same date in previous years, combining clutter removal with rediscovery of past moments.
- Video Memories: Users can swipe through old videos alongside still photos, making it possible to clean up video clutter in the same workflow.
- Daily streak system: Animated flame indicators reward users who return to clean regularly, encouraging ongoing maintenance of the photo library.
- Storage tracking: The app displays how much space has been freed during each session, giving users a clear measure of their cleanup progress.
How It Works
After downloading the app, users grant access to their photo library and are presented with one photo or video at a time from their camera roll. Swiping left marks the item for deletion, swiping right keeps it, and swiping up adds it to favorites. A sticky month rail at the bottom of the screen lets users jump between different time periods in their library. The On this Day feature automatically surfaces photos from past years on the current date. After completing a swiping session, users can review and confirm all pending deletions before any items are permanently removed from the device.
Privacy and Security
CleanCam does not upload photos or videos to external servers for cleanup processing. All analysis and organization happens locally on the user device. No account creation is required, eliminating the need to share email addresses or personal information to use the core cleanup functionality. The app collects usage data for analytics and third-party advertising purposes, but this data is not linked to user identity.
Availability
CleanCam is available as a free download on the Apple App Store for iPhone and iPad running iOS 16.6 or later, and on Google Play for Android devices. The app supports in-app purchases including a lifetime premium option, a monthly premium subscription, and an unlimited swiping add-on. The developer is AppKoncept 2, operated by UNICORNS NOW IVS, which also publishes Tjime, Chromabill, TapChats, and other utility apps.
