Tempo

Tempo is a desktop application for macOS and Windows that provides a unified workspace for product managers, designers, and engineers to plan, design, and build software with integrated AI agents. It connects directly to a team's existing codebase and combines documentation, visual design, project management, and AI-assisted development into a single interface.

Key Capabilities

• Docs - A rich editor for writing product requirements documents, technical specifications, and project notes. Docs can be linked to chat sessions so AI agents read them as context on every turn, eliminating the need to paste requirements into prompts.
• Canvas - A Figma-style infinite canvas where every frame is a live iframe of a real route or React component from the codebase. Design edits (style changes, drag-and-drop, prop adjustments) write back to source files. Each canvas is backed by a typed React storyboard stored in an index.canvas.tsx file that commits to git alongside the codebase.
• Issues - A built-in Kanban board for tracking work. Cards link to branches, pull requests, canvases, and docs. AI agents can pick up a card, run the work in an isolated worktree, and open a PR when done.
• Chat - AI chat sessions (Claude by Anthropic or Codex by OpenAI) running inside isolated git worktrees per session, so destructive changes never touch the main branch. Multiple agents can work in parallel on the same repository without conflicts. Sessions include a Plan mode that lets users review a structured proposal before the agent writes any files.

• Starter - Free. Includes 100 AI messages per month on free models, up to 10 team members, 250 kanban issues, and 50 docs.
• Team - $20 per seat per month. Unlimited team members, kanban issues, and docs.
• Agent+ - $4,500 per month. A managed service where AI agents design and ship one to three features daily, with human engineers and designers reviewing for quality. Typical turnaround is 48 to 72 hours.
• Tempo Inference - $30 per month add-on for using Tempo with any agent or model, priced at API cost.

Integrations

Tempo works with Claude Code (Anthropic) and Codex (OpenAI) as AI providers. It connects to any codebase that runs a Vite, Next.js, or similar dev server. The platform supports multi-repository workspaces via git submodules and integrates with standard git workflows including branching, pull requests, and CI status tracking on issue cards.
